Judy Bishop-Executive Director
Born and raised in San Francisco Bay Area, Judy’s environmental career began in the 1970’s. She was educated at Cal State Hayward and San Diego State University. She founded The ReUse People, a community non-profit, which collects usable building materials for low income housing in California and Mexico. To date, 212,000 tons of construction materials have been diverted from our landfills, and over 1,400 homes have been built. Judy began working at the EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education in 2003 as Executive Director, where she has created a successful educational program that has reached nearly 35,000 San Diego County students.
Candace McGovern-Program Director
Candace was raised in Anaheim CA and has lived in San Diego on and off for the past 8 years. Having graduated with a degree in History from SDSU, she enjoys museums and educating youth. Currently a Graduate Student, she is pursuing her dream of one day being the Director of a History Museum. She has been teaching at various museums and schools since 2006, and has experience teaching at a variety of levels. She has been busy all summer re-designing the education programs for the 2008/2009 school year, and hopes that everyone enjoys the new exhibits.
Joanne Hoxie-Bus Driver & Tour Guide
Joanne has been the EcoCenter Bus Driver and Tour Guide since last school year. Prior to working at the EcoCenter Joanne taught in an elementary school for many years.
