Opportunities

Docents at the EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education provide guided tours of our facilities for students in grades 4th - 7th. The two-hour tour begins with a twenty-minute video, and then leads the students through our hands-on Learning Lab. Docents explain the games to students, teach students about alternative fuels and their sources, and help students understand the material we present to them. Docent duties include greeting the bus as it arrives, leading students into the auditorium, giving the guided tours, passing out the certificates at the end of the tour, and seeing the bus off. Docents are responsible for making sure clipboards have handouts, passing out clipboards, handouts, and pencils, making nametags, coordinating the class departure, and generally making sure the tour goes smoothly.
