Tour Tips
- Go over the vocabulary before your tour. This helps students learn more while they are on the tour.
- Board the bus on time. We schedule multiple tours each day, and if your class arrives late the tour will inevitably be cut short.
- Have your class divided into two *equal* groups. This saves time as the tour is given in two portions, and otherwise we will have to do it while they are here. (Again, this takes time away from the tour.) Please consider student dynamics when diving your class, so that every student gets the most out of the tour.
- Bring at least one chaperone for every ten students. This helps when students need to use the restroom and when boarding the bus, etc.
- Have a pencil for every student. Students need pencils to fill in the EcoReport. While they can not have them on the bus, please have them ready to pass out upon arrival.
- Students should be wearing name tags that are easy to read. We like to call students by name, so please have their names written large and legibly. Again, it takes time to do this at the EcoCenter, time that would otherwise be spent on the tour. So, please do this before hand.
- Inform students they will ride on a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus. The tour starts when we pick students up in our clean burning school bus. No food, drinks, nor pencils are allowed on the bus.
- Bring a camera. There are lots of great photo opportunities.
- Have fun!
