Alternate Route

Alternate Route is an EcoCenter for Alternative Fuel Education original production. It serves as an excellent introduction to our classroom curriculum and to our field trip. Students will learn which fuels are fossil fuels and what their negative impacts are. Students will then learn about the alternatives to these fossil fuels, where they come from, and how they are better. This video also features footage of exciting new vehicles such as the Segway Human Transporter, the L3 Enigma diesel hybrid, electric motorcycles, and futuristic concept cars. For grades 4-8. Mr. Hydrogen

Mr. Hydrogen is a 5-minute video that combines animation and live action footage to explain how hydrogen works in a car. Through the humorous antics of Mr. Hydrogen and Ms. Oxygen, students will learn that hydrogen cars run on electricity and produce nothing but water as waste. For grades 4-6. Hydrogen: The Pollution Solution

Hydrogen: The Pollution Solution provides a brief but engaging introduction to hydrogen and related energy technologies. Developed for young audiences, it shows why the transition to clean hydrogen energy is inevitable. It shows how hydrogen related technologies like fuel cells, developed in the space program, will power our cars with only water vapor as exhaust. It offers a reassuring vision of a world with clear skies and lots of exciting job opportunities in the hydrogen energy arena for young people just starting out. For grades 7-8.

Bettah

According to the two-minute animation video Bettah, “Hybrids are good, but Plug-in hybrids are BETTAH!” This video was developed by Cal Cars (The California Cars Initiative), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting plug-in hybrids. A flash version of this video is available free online at www.calcars.org/bettah. You will need to view it on a computer. For grades 4-8.
